The Trillium Childhood Cancer Support Centre offers and promotes recreational experiences to bring children with cancer and their families together. The Trillium Centre provides an environment that normalizes relationships and experiences, helping children and their families in the healing process and enhancing their quality of life.
Camp Trillium operates two sites in Ontario. Oddfellow and Rebekah Island, formerly Garratt ’s Island (since 1989), near Sandbanks Provincial Park in Picton, and Rainbow Lake (since 1997) in Waterford. Camp Trillium also travels to ten different Ontario cities, operating Day Camp programs in the summer. Throughout the year, Youth Groups and Trillium in the Community programs are offered in several major centres.
More children than ever before are surviving childhood cancer; however, the devastation of their diagnosis and their treatments have major implications for the whole family. Camp Trillium has experienced phenomenal growth since its inception in 1984. It is apparent that the support and recreation we provide is truly necessary. Childhood cancer affects the whole family; therefore, our population includes: children on treatment, children off treatment, brothers and sisters of patients, bereaved siblings and parents.
